One hundred years in Malaysia’s highly competitive automotive industry is no easy feat. As a premium marque, pertaining to the tastes to those who constantly demand a higher refinement from their cars with a wide range of needs to entertain is an arduous task beyond one’s imagination.
But BMW Malaysia have just done exactly that, and to inaugurate their 100th year the German carmaker will be launching a limited edition model of their current F10 5-Series called the 528i M Performance Edition. This is a limited run of 100 units, and unique to Malaysia.
“In the centenary year of the BMW Group, we at BMW Group Malaysia have not only continuously grown our strong portfolio of premium vehicles here in the country, but we are also constantly looking at opportunities to ensure that more of our Malaysian customers are able to enjoy the premium ownership experience of a BMW vehicle.” said the CEO and Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, Han Sang Yun.
The 528i M Performance Edition sports a few aesthetic changes over the current 528i, such as the inclusion of gloss black kidney grilles, a redesigned front splitter, side skirts and a bootlid spoiler made from carbon fiber, with M Performance badging on the body. No changes were made to the vehicle’s capabilities however, which means the 528i M Performance Edition still bears the same two-liter turbocharged N20B20 engine with 245 PS and 350 Nm as with the regular 528i.
OTR pricing is RM363,800, which is a good RM15,000 cheaper despite the added kit. To get your hands on one, just head down to any authorized BMW showrooms starting from this weekend to place an order.
