Ferrari Land opens to the public in Barcelona, Spain

For the kids you have Disneyland, for the gamblers there’s Las Vegas and for the motorheads we get Ferrari Land. At the official event held at the first Cavallino Rampante theme park in Europe after Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the supercar-themed park has finally opened its doors to the public.

The theme park occupies an area of 70,000 square metres within the PortAventura World resort, about an hour away from Barcelona. Ferrari Land is obviously for fans and enthusiasts, but above all it is a place where families can have fun and at the same time explore the long standing history of the marque.

With 11 attractions on offer, the most spectacular ride is unquestionably the Red Force – the highest and fastest vertical accelerator in all of Europe, at a dizzying 112 meters high and neck-breaking 180km/h achieved under five seconds, which will be the most thrilling yet. Two other attractions, termed Racing Legends and Flying Dreams allow visitors to literally fly through the history of F1 and GT.

For those not too fond of thriller rides, the Ferrari Gallery presents an historical past of Ferrari and what it has become today. Those looking for a as-close-as-you-can-get experience can have a go at a pit stop or experience the excitement of driving a GT car with Maranello Gran Race, with plenty of other simulators for adults and children. Finally, anyone wanting more thrills can try Thrill Towers; two towers in the shape of a piston for the experience of free falling.
