First of all, a happy new year to all of our readers from the #MTHRFKNWIN team! As we leave behind 2016 and usher in 2017, there’s much to look forward to from us – and that includes the latest fuel prices for the new month.
But first off, let’s look back at 2016’s fuel trends. The year marked the beginning of a new controlled float system managed by the Government and current crude oil prices, which ultimately determined the amount each and every motorist would pay when filling up – a rather controversial move as most Malaysians assumed the plummeting oil prices meant cheaper fuels for everyone. That however, didn’t turn out to be the case.
In fact, fuel prices initially had a pleasing dip in the first few months, but made steady increments till end of the year. Disappointingly for all of us, the Government has indicated that prices will further rise in 2017, and that is certainly not a good sign.
Without further ado, below are new prices of fuel for January 2017:
RON 95 @ RM2.10 per litre
RON 97 @ RM2.40 per litre
Diesel @ RM2.05 per litre
Diesel (Euro 5) @ RM2.15 per litre
RON 100 @ RM2.85 per litre
