Last night, the members of the media were invited to witness the unveiling of Porsche’s Macan SportDesign Series. The special cars can be distinguished by their distinct sporty appearance, and offers the potential Porsche customer a list of standard features, designed to immerse driver and passengers in the full Porsche experience.
The Macan SportDesign comes in a choice of two exterior colours – Volcano Grey Metallic and Carrera White Metallic. The car’s front apron sees some enhancements, along with painted side skirts and rear apron. Also new are silver and red accented livery, reminiscent of the 997 GT3 RS, which further accentuates the dynamics of the Macan. There are also black accents all around, including black LED headlights which include Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+) and tinted LED taillights, as well as roof rails and sport tail pipes painted in high gloss black. On all four corners, you now get 21-inch wheels in a choice of two designs; 911 Turbo Wheel with multi-spokes or a forged alloy Sport Classic Wheel.
“The design and livery of the Macan SportDesign Series is the clear differentiation factor for this new Macan and its unmistakable character. It is a clear nod to the motorsport heritage of every Porsche,” said Arnt Bayer,Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Auto Performance. “With the many premium features now offered as standard, the Macan SportDesign provides a sportier look and feel, giving our customers a greater experience of the sporting fundamentals of a Porsche.”
Slip inside and you’ll notice the theme continues on with matching black-red leather interior. Customers get 14-way power seats with memory function for both front driver and passenger. There are also contrasting red accents in the stitching, seat belts, instrument cluster and the Sport Chrono stopwatch. Complementing the luxurious interior is the standard Bose Surround Sound System with 14 loudspeakers and 545 Watts, providing a sophisticated audio experience.
Also included as standard are air suspension with leveling system and ride height adjustment, including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Sport Chrono Package.
The Macan SportDesign will be priced at RM545,000 (OTR without road tax and insurance), which represents a substantial saving compared to a similarly equipped Macan. Only 40 units of the Macan SportDesign are available for sale, and a four-year warranty and free maintenance package will come as standard for customer’s peace of mind.
If you’re a potential customer who wants to check the Macan SportDesign out, SDAP is organizing an Open House at Porsche Center Glenmarie and Porsche Center Sungai Besi this weekend. For Porsche owners in the northern region, the Macan SportDesign will be on preview at the Farquhar Mansion this weekend as well. As a highlight, Porsche 360 Financing will also be made available. If you’re lucky, you may even run into Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo!
