Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace and Passat R-Line now open for booking: priced from RM164,430 and RM200,000 respectively


Making their launch next to the Arteon R-Line were the Tiguan Allspace and Passat R-Line respectively. Like their Arteon sibling, both the new Tiguan and Passat are locally assembled at the Volkswagen plant in Pekan, Pahang.

The Tiguan Allspace is an extended wheelbase version of the Tiguan with bespoke front and rear ends. It set to make waves in the local SUV segment and will be available in two variants; the Tiguan Allspace Highline 1.4TSI (150 PS, 250 Nm) and the Tiguan Allspace R-Line 2.0TSI (220PS, 350 Nm). The exterior is accentuated with a significantly higher bonnet position with precise and sharper lines that run across the bonnet and front bumper giving it a stronger stance.

The longer wheelbase of the Tiguan Allspace makes the assertive-looking SUV a true space giant, offering versatility with multiple seat configurations. With the third-row seats folded, the available boot space is at 700 litres and with both seat rows folded, the SUV offers a massive boot space of 1,775 litres, the best in its segment.

The seven-seater combines dynamic performance, authentic off-road experience and embodies the new Volkswagen SUV DNA, making it extremely versatile with a high appeal factor.

True to its R-Line legacy, the Tiguan Allspace R-Line is a performance SUV, and its aggressive stance, coupled with 19” Sebring alloy wheels, commands attention on- and off- the road. It offers the highest power and torque in its class, thanks to an impressive output of 220 PS and torque of 350 Nm, and its capabilities are enhanced with a 4Motion all-wheel drive system. The interior is no less impressive, with the best connectivity features such as a Digital Cockpit and 9.2” Discover Pro infotainment system.

The Volkswagen R-Line variants take inspiration from the Volkswagen performance R range. The R-Line range is a sporty styling package fitted onto the vehicle to give it an extra edge in creating an overall sportier look while maintaining great value.

The all-new Tiguan Allspace Highline is priced at RM169,990 and the all-new Tiguan Allspace R-Line priced at RM213,490. With the sales tax exemption, both variants are now offered at the recommended retail prices of RM164,430.75 and RM208,553.79 until the 31 st of December 2020. Owners will enjoy 3 years free maintenance, 5 years unlimited mileage warranty and 5 years roadside assistance.

The sportier big brother of the Passat Elegance, the new Passat R-Line is also locally assembled and is expected to be priced between RM200,000 to RM210,000.

Taking its inspiration from the Volkswagen R models, the R-Line range was created to offer drivers a way to express their individuality and make a statement, while still providing great value. The Passat R-Line is the second R-Line model offered by VPCM after the Golf R-Line.The Passat R-Line is decked with sporty touches, thanks to new R-Line front and rear bumpers, side R-Line badge, chrome trims and 19” Verona alloy wheels. As for the interior, R-Line trim is evident on the Nappa carbon-style black leather seats, steering wheel and aluminium sports pedals.

Powering the Passat R-Line is a new 2.0TSI turbocharged engine that produces 190 PS and torque of 320 Nm. Paired with a new and improved 7-speed wet clutch direct shift gearbox (DSG), one can expect an exhilarating and effortless driving experience.Safety is strengthened with Side Assist with 180-degree detection range of up to 50 metres; and Rear Traffic Alert which warns drivers reversing out of parking spaces of vehicles approaching at an angle of 90 degrees.

For driver connectivity, the Passat R-Line fitted with Volkswagen’s Discover Pro infotainment system with a 9.2” touchscreen. Convenient features include voice control, gesture control, a customizable three-view split screen and Wireless App-Connect with Apple Car Play.
